Our Bee Cam is live

We are all very excited! We now have a bee ‘hotel’ located at the back of the school, which has a live webcam attached. This week we have placed mason bee cocoons in it, which should hatch any day. Later on in the term, the bees will hopefully make cells in the hotel in which they will lay their eggs. The children have been told all about this in assembly. Mason bees are solitary bees - they are non-aggressive, do not swarm and are safe around children (they do not have a harmful sting). We are really looking forward to observing and learning more about them.
