In Year 6, it important your child continues to read regularly with you and the expectation is to be reading with your child at least four times a week.
Now they are older, your child should take responsibility of recording the date and page number when they read with you.
It is also your child’s responsibility to change their reading books when they need to on a Friday.
They can only do so on this day so returned books can be quarantined for the required amount of time before being used by another child.
All reading journals will be inspected in on a Friday regardless of whether their book need changing to keep a record of who has been reading at home.
All children have a reading record grid stuck in their homework books to assist them to keep an up-to-date record of their weekly reading.
