It's Fix-It time again! For our new parents, this is a day when we try to complete small DIY jobs around the school or undertake refurbishment and improvement jobs.
Your help is always greatly appreciated however much time you can spare, whether it's a couple of hours or the whole day.
We hope you can join us on Saturday 27th September.
Macmillan Coffee Morning
Each year Macmillan hold a UK wide Coffee Morning to raise money for people living with cancer. In 2013, a record £20 million was raised so we are getting involved and holding our Coffee Morning on Friday 26th September. If you are a keen baker and could possibly donate some sweet treats for us to sell, please contact Mrs. Harris via the school office or at .
Harvest Festival Thursday 2nd October
As last year, we would like to donate our Harvest gifts to Ashford Foodbank instead of making boxes for some of the older residents of the village. Please see www.trusselltrust.org/foodbank-projects for further information. Please send your Harvest contributions to school on Wednesday 1st October - please only donate non-perishable food, eg:UHT or powdered milk, sugar, cartons of longlife fruit juice, tins or packets of soup, pasta and rice, jars/tins of cooking sauces, teabags, instant mash potato, tinned fruit and vegetables, biscuits and cereals etc. Thank you for supporting this cause.
Our PTFA will be setting up the Harvest Festival display in the school hall on Wednesday 1st October between 3.30pm and 5.15pm. All help with this would be gratefully received.
Phil the Bag
There will be a Phil the Bag collection on Wednesday 24th September. This is where we ask for any donations of unwanted clothing, shoes, bags, belts and bedding to help us raise money for the School. PLEASE BRING BAGS TO SCHOOL ON THE DAY AND LEAVE IN THE OUTDOOR CLASSROOM (OPPOSITE OFFICE) BY 9.30am.
We CANNOT accept duvets, pillows and sleeping bags, rugs and carpets, offcuts of fabric, any WET items, curtains, tents and canvas.
Many of you will be aware that you have been able to raise money for the School just by doing your online shopping through the Spend and Raise website. This site has recently changed its name to Easy Fundraising and can be accessed through the link below.
Easy Fundraising will still offer the same wide range of online retailers with various levels of commission available to the School. Please pass this information on to friends and family so they can also use the site to do any online shopping which will give us the opportunity to use any commission raised to purchase new school equipment. Happy Shopping!
Power up to Recycle Challenge
Help us to win rewards for our School by recycling as many batteries as possible. This initiative will run from 3rd September 2014 to 30th January 2015. The school that collects the most batteries will win £500 to spend on school supplies, with second and third place winning £100. Please bring in any batteries you have and we will see how many we can collect!
