Bear (Year 4)

Christmas is coming!

We have started to get the Christmas feeling in Bear Class this week and have been making decorations for the tree and a display to go up in the hall. We have listened to The Skaters' Waltz by Emile Waldteufel as our inspiration and learnt about how he wrote this piece of music in 1882 whilst looking at people ice skating on the frozen Seine River in France.

The ultimate act of kindness!

The ultimate act of kindness! 1

Bear Class used Anti-bullying week to think about kindness and how we could show and share kindness across the school. We were thinking about the theme: All Different: All Equal, and decided to make cakes using the same ingredients and decorate them differently. Once they were decorated, we gave them away to other adults and classes in the school. Our recipients were exceptionally grateful and make us feel good about our 'act of kindness'.

During Roald Dahl week we thought about dreams that we would like to capture. We took inspiration from the BFG and his dream-catching ability and tried to decide how our dreams would look if we caught them and put them into jars! Here are some of our creations:

We dressed up for Roald Dahl day and we looked splendid! Can you guess who any of us are?

This week we have been writing some stunning sentences to re-tell the story of Jason and the golden fleece. We have been thinking about his journey to Colchis and how his crew are helping him through the terrible conditions.

Welcome to Bear Class!

We are thrilled to be back and it's all change with the adults and children in Bear Class!

We have welcomed our children back with a new honorary member of the class - 'Dotty the Goldfish', who has been enjoying her new surroundings. We will shortly be learning how to look after her and make sure she never goes hungry.

We have shared our first story in class and are finding ways to help 'Something Else' feel better after his upsetting day. He has met a new friend 'Orange' who has made him realise that it is alright to be different and they are now firm friends.
