Parent Support Advisor (Useful Links)

My name is Deborah Harris and I am the Parent Support Advisor at Aldington Primary School.

My role is a non-teaching one in the school and I am here to provide pastoral support to our parents/carers. Should you have a personal concern or school related issue, then I am here to listen to you in a confidential and non-judgmental way.

Much of my work is about encouraging parental involvement within school, so keep an eye out for coffee mornings or a number of courses which I run throughout the academic year. We have hosted a variety of sessions including but not limited to, healthy eating workshops, clay modelling for the family, internet safety and even a workshop run by Relate aimed at supporting recently separated families.

If you wish to speak to me, please call the school, email me at or pop in to reception to make an appointment.

Knowing how to respond to questions or recognise age-appropriate behaviours in children can be difficult, but absolutely key to the development of healthy sexual behaviours. The above leaflets give some very informative advice about what is acceptable and healthy, and what could be potential harmful.

Talking about children and sexual behaviours isn't always easy, but please take the time to read and understand the "normal" behaviours children can and do exhibit.

NSPCC's "Let's Talk PANTS" campaign is a fantastic guide on how to have simple conversations with our children to encourage them to stay safe. Click on the relevant links above to find out more.
The NSPCC also offer some helpful and informative guidance on age appropriate sexual behaviours. Visit the below link to find out more.
If you are a parent or carer, we hope you will find the web links below useful.
